lfo , an eg is an eg etc. nobody owns a patent on capacitance, it was
being used in other fields before modular synthesis even existed. if
you are copying circuits, then that's a whole other ball game. i
think what Doepfer is attempting to do is good for the modular
community at large. i have not seen any new ideas come from Serge or
any other manufacturer except for the Encore Electronics UEG and the
Wiard Wobblebug,Borg filter and Waveform city modules. most of the
modular stuff being produced is a different variation on existing
circuits or principles. where are the fresh ideas that led to the
wave multipliers and Marfs etc. how about some new and revolutionary
ways to bend the line between the past and the future. oh well, let's
keep our collective hopes up and wait to see what the future holds. i
will say once and i will say it again, let's innovate and come up
with new and interesting ways to accomplish functions that were
previously unavailable to us before, so we can get to the new
plateaus that await us.
