I was able to aquire an Animal, just some month old, from Joe Millar. Very
smooth deal, good trader.
After the first blast of excitement, I discovered the following.
I feed a sine wave into the right input of the [UAP] and switch the [UAP] to Pan
mode. Now, when I turn the Pan knob from the middle position to the right, the
following happens: The right signal gets gradually louder, the left signal gets
gradually softer. So far, so good. But at around the 3 PM o'clock position of the
Pan knob, the left signal drops abruptly to zero level.
Accordingly, if I turn Pan to the left, the left signal gets gradually louder, the
right signal gets gradually softer. But at around the 9 AM o'clock position, the
right signal drops abruptly to zero level.
Also, if I set the [UAP] to Xfade, I can not do a smooth crossfade. E.g. I start
with signal 1 only -- at the 9 AM position of the Xfade signal 2 gets abruptly
switched on. And at 3 AM signal 1 gets abruptly switched off.
Is this strange or the normal behaviour of the [UAP]?
If this is how it is meant to be - although I find it hard to imagine that it should
be this way - I am fine with it, as this small panel is a powerhouse of an
electronic musical instrument, unlike any other I have ever owned or played. I
just want to have peace of mind.
In any case, I already ordered a [TKB]. Hehehe.
