Re: Where's Rex?

2003-11-19 by Michael A. Firman

Hi,

Through the grapevine (I recently talked with a friend and neighbor of
Rex's), I know that Rex is in the process of moving (still within Milwaukee),
so I suspect that his life is in a bit of turmoil. This is no excuse for "disappearing"
but it probably explains why you haven't been able to get in touch with him.
Rex is a very trustworthy fellow, and I know he really trys to get panels out the
door as fast as is possible (with the highest quality workmanship possible).
Sometimes, in the independent manufacturing business (and the big manufacturing
business also) there are unforseen problems in getting ones product out the door.
Recently, I know from other synth manufacturers that I am friendly with, parts
have been getting more difficult to obtain (particularly in relatively small
quantities). For example, I know that the knobs that STS uses have been
getting harder to get. All of this, plus Rex's physical move, has no doubt
fed the delays you are experiencing. All I can say is be patient, Rex will come
through.
