Yes, Doepfer can be a bit cheap n' nasty, but I think a comparison to MOTM
or Modcan is not out of order.
The Modcan Oscillator is $300.
I used to own an NTO and a PCO and found them both useful. To restrict
yourself to one or other would be a shame IMO.
It IS worth thinking ahead when configuring systems, but if each panel is
fairly well balanced and self contained it helps with resale (if and when
that day comes).
There is a nice, useful looking panel on Ebay right now. Much more appealing
to me than panels from bigger systems that are over burdened with multiple
Oscillators or 3 or 4 filters of the same type.
