Me, I don't currently have any Serge stuff in my rack, though I do get inspiration from just
reading about it. Many of the less complex patches I can hear in my head, kinda like how a
conductor can read through an orchestral score and hear the sound in his or her mind.

The Ghost really seems like overkill, not in the quality department, rather in the size
overkill department. Boys will be boys though... I would humbly suggest that your studio methods
would be stimulated by downsizing the mixer and finding a high quality/low learning curve
recording device that is rugged and reliable

> ... boys will be boys huh?....and just what would you suggest? I could wax profound as to why i use such big mixer. Suffice to say that my compositional style requires as many channels as possible. If i had the space and the cash a Trident series 80 with a 48x16 matrix would just about get me to where i need to be. The Serge alone has 14 VCA outputs. As far as i high quality low learning curve recorder goes, i think those two terms are not mutualy inclusive and probably oxymoronic to boot!! LOL besides, i already have what you describe in the XT 20s. Even an idiot like myself can run those. So if you can come up with something that meets my needs of 48x16 buss desk/and or recorder that is cheap and won't tax my Luddite brain.... bring it on!! On a different note, thanks for the concern that i avoid the Yamaha O2R... or any computerized mixer trap although i have several computer wizard friends who swear by them. The audio shop where i used to work carried that line for about three years and i had ample time to try and get used to that concept and it just never happened.I just couldn't deal with scrolling and sub menues while trying to mix. We never sold any of the O2s either and when we finaly stopped being a dealer for them they offered me the one we had on the floor at an almost give-away price so they wouldnt have to pay freight back to where ever. I passed and i'm glad i did. My friends just shake their heads.... they think i'm kinda dim and at some level they are right, but i'm ok with that. I accept my limitations and do with them what i can.

kind regards
