I think Rex said he has some shop panels in stock, if you want
brand-spanking new. There's some
used gear floating out there too.
If you want the Serge to be a sound souirce then a Blue Voice or Animal
panel is a good way to go.
If you want the Serge to be a sound mangler then a Soup Kitchen is your
cuppa tea (munched metaphor!)
Figure $3000+ for a new Serge panel plus power supply. Lots of folks go
for multiple panels.

If you mean ordering time, if Rex has it and your check clears, maybe a
couple weeks or less!
If you're building a custom panel that's 2-3 months according to the
latest data.

Relaibility varies. If you check out the 'Polls' section of this Yahoo
group there's a poll on relaibility. Most Serge users
are very happy. The Hartland/Oakland panels from 1993 on are very
solid.. Serge-built gear from the 70's and 80's is
more dodgy. On any heavily used system you may have to replace a pot or
two just from wear & tear. One saving grace of
Serges is that they use fairly standard parts - no custom IC's or floor
sweepings. So there's hope even for a whacked-out Serge.

It actually was forged from Krell-metal. No earthbound foundry could
make the parts so it was custom made in low earth orbit by guys with one
