no harm possible.
But when set to self-oscillation, both the DSG/DTG can only go up to a specific frequency
before the oscillation breaks up, unlike a dedicated NTO or PCO. You can try it out without
any modulation patched, just by slowly turning the attack/release clockwise you will
reach a point at which the oscillation breaks up, and you have to turn attack/release a bit
counter-clockwise and repatch the Gate/Trig In connection in order to make it oscillate
again.
Depending on your setting of the VC In potentiometer, and the modulation signal, you
might reach the point of oscillation breaking up sooner or later.
There is no basic difference between 1Volt/Oct input of the DSG and the normal VC In
inputs of the DTG/DSG the only difference is that the 1Volt/Oct has a fixed modulation
amount, while the VC In amount is adjustable. In case of the DSG, the modulation inputs
of both the 1Volt/Oct and the VC In will be added up, and the sum will be used to
modulate the attack and/or release time(s).
