Since I can't reach STS on the phone today, I thought I'd share a few questions with the
list.
I got my new four-panel system in the mail a week or two ago. The panels are: Blue Voice,
Blue CV, Soup Kitchen and a TKB.
I'm having a great time getting to know the thing (also read most of the Gold book), but
the following questions came up:
---
The Blue Voice has two cable braids running to the power supplies (I'm guessing this is
simply because it needs more power than the other panels?), the CV2 and Soup Kitchen
each have one cable braid. The TKB has two braids, only one of which has a connector that
fits the power supply board. What's the other cable for?
---
Rex suggested that I get something a little more powerful than only a PS4 to power this
power-hungry panel configuration, so I ended up getting a PS4 plus a PS2 as a backup.
When I connect all four panels to the PS4 distribution board sometimes both lights on the
distro board come on, and sometimes only one of them (and the lights on the panels
themselves don't light up). So that would mean the PS4 can't handle the four panels by
itself?
---
Most of the voltages on the Serge are positive only, right? So all the voltages from the
Random Source and DTG are all in the positive domain? And only the black outputs on the
DSG and the Quadrature Osc go into negative too?
---
The boxes all have two holes on each side covered by little black plastic caps. If one were
to rack mount the boxes, is this where the rack ears would be attached? (They're "low
profile" boxes, BTW)
---
Thanks for any info!
