Answer:

NO.

The 255 (which I own) is actually 8 lag processors with a bias voltage
each. You can use them as portamento generators or as attack/release
EG's (this is the most common application I have for it, feeding the Z
voltage from my Continuum so that there will be some release voltage
when I take my fingers off the touch surface).
It also gives you additional voltage in a pinch (if you need it to open
a filter, change the pitch of an oscillator, etc).
I love this module. It's the only totally-analog one in the current
Buchla catalog.
After speaking to Rex, it seems that the scaling processors and dual
processors he sells would do the trick.
It's great to know, especially now that they can be had in hal-panel
module sets.
