Re: Customization

Ioannis,

I had a similar reaction when Rex announced that as of June 1st 2007 he was stopping production of custom units. However, given the rapid arrival of various flavors of M-odules, I quickly realized that all bases would be covered. Furthermore, the layout and function/cell block (a.k.a modules) selection is optimized by Rex himself and I found that to be an indespensible asset.

I find that working in this manner results in a well balanced system. Also, to answer your concern about having "modules you dont need"; I have yet to come accross one. Which ever modules I was concerned about having in duplicate or may consider "not useful"; I was proven wrong. Firstly be Rex explaining to me the advantages of having more than one of a given module or by demonstrating how the, so called, "not useful" module would compliment the rest of my kit.

IMHO, unless a person has a specific need, like a panel with eight VCFQXs to compliment some other modular, I beleive that between the shop panels and the uter battery of M-odules will cater to everyone (or almost ;-)

My setup consists of four shop panels, one custom panel and two M-odules and I'm happier than a pig in mud ;-)

Hi,

I am not aware if there is an M-module with two ADSRs but even if there is one, it would also have additional modules that maybe I don't need. Maybe in the (distant) future they will prove handy but for now it's a waste of money and space.

As regards the functionality of the black strip, I still think that all of this could go to the back of the panel and save valuable space.

The irony is that I have been wanting a Serge since day one, have spent countless hours designing panels with the Serge Planner and now that I have the money to buy it, I can't have any customization. I have designed it very logically (at least as logical you can get with a modular) and in a way that fits my workflow. I know that this is a modular system and things can get spaghetti after a while, but you get the idea.
