I can attest to the fact that panel #3 is way cool.
But of course I’d say that huh?
That panel was used extensively on Hells Canyon and was always one of my favorites.
Good luck on your sale Chris, I know it’s terribly hard to part with your system .
Warm regards
JD

Subject: [SergeModular] FS: Loaded
3-panel Serge system
For many years I participated in this forum as
"paradigmshiftbeats" until recently, when a well-meaning but
overconfident AT&T U-verse tech obliterated that ID and a decade's worth of
e-mail archives, requiring me to resubscribe under my current handle.
I have enjoyed my season with this instrument, but it is now time for me to
release it to a new home. It has been difficult to come to peace with this
decision knowing the days of custom panels are gone, as one of my favorite
things about this system is its efficiency. I spent years working with various
panels before I settled on this combination, which IMHO packs a lot of timbral
power into 48" and 12U of rack space. I can only hope someone else will
find these panels as compelling as I have.
My asking price is $13,000 USD for the system. Looking over Rex's current
product lineup, I do not believe one could duplicate the range of this system
using less than 8 M-Class units or 16U worth of M-Class + Shop Panels.
I am located in Texas ,
USA , and will
ship worldwide at actual cost according to the buyer's preferred courier. Of
course, avoiding customs paperwork leads me to prefer a North American buyer.
All panels are Sound Transform Systems in perfect working order. Here are the
panel configurations (left to right):
Panel #1: Custom panel, STS Hartland ,
WI . Built to my spec during the
last run of custom panels in 2008. Has a shallow boat.

* This is a custom DSG labeled as a "Universal Slope / Clock Generator."
The top section is a standard Slope Generator with Blue LED. The bottom section
is (to my knowledge) the only prototype TimeGen Osc ever delivered to a
customer, with a single frequency control and cycle switch in place of the
standard rise/fall pots. Unlike the production TGO, my version has a 1v/oct in.
It's not as accurate as an NTO/PCO over wide note ranges but works pretty well
within an octave or so. The overall pitch range is very close to the production
TGO on the Creature, low enough to effectively clock the sequencer at very slow
tempos but high enough to use in the upper audio range. The waveforms are also
like those from the Creature, which are more like true square and sawtooth and
sound richer than the standard DSG in audio mode. Info on the TimeGen Osc on
the Creature page here: http://www.carbon111.com/creature.html
Panel #2: Animal - Built by STS just before the move from
Oakland , CA .
I am the second owner, since mid-2003. The only mod is that the S/H Source
switch was converted to a jack output by Rex so I could use it to drive my
second SSG (but it works for other things as well...) When Rex was ready to
"burn in" my custom panel before shipping, I sent this Animal and the
custom panel below to him for general tune-ups, and he calibrated all of the
oscillators and filters across the entire system to ensure consistent tracking.
Great info on the Animal panel here: http://www.carbon111.com/animal.html

I will post a picture to the photo page for the curious among you. Additional
photos available on request for those with serious interest. Please e-mail
off-list to discuss.
I have bought and sold gear several times over the years through this forum as
well as on the Analogue Heaven mailing list, always to the satisfaction of both
parties.
Thank you for considering!
