As far as I know, the AGC prevents the VCFQ from self-resonating.
Turn up the Q on most filters and
they start to howl with resonant feedback. The AGC lets you run the VCF at very high Q without this howling.

For a long time, I haven't been able to figure out how this is useful and just last night I finally thought of a configuration where it could be:
If you have an external feedback path patched into the AGC input, the Q control (and CV) acts as a crossfader between internal and external feedback.
Anyone else know of another way the AGC input is useful?
Does anyone know why this feature was implemented instead of just a 2nd input?
