Serge interface standards?

Serge interface standards?

2002-07-09 by peff2cv

Quickie question: what are the interface standards for Serge (besides
the obvious 1V/oct CVs)? Trigger/gate levels? Input and output
impedances? Any known "conflicts" with other modular gear?

thanks

Serge audio and control voltage outs are 5 volts peak to peak. Black
jacks are centered around 0 volts (-2.5V to +2.5V), blue jacks run 0 to
5 volts.

Gates and Triggers appear to be around 11 volts output. I haven't
tested these to see what input voltage is required to trigger them.

As I recall output impedance was 330 ohms typical and input impedance
was maybe 50K ohms.

These values are generally compatible with other modulars. Sometimes
you may need to scale or shift the values. For instance, Wiard tends to
use 0 to 10 volt ranges. MOTM and Synthesizers.com use 0 to 5 volts for
gates and envelopes and -5 volts to +5 volts peak to peak for just about
everything else.

I just checked, since I was curious. A DSG appears to trigger at about
1.8 volts, so 0 to 5 volt gates will be compatible with Serge.

What does an SSG output when it's set to oscillate? I seem to remember it
being around 5V P-P (-2.5 to =2.5). Is that accurate?

I don't have an SSG so someone else would need to provide that number.
