Hi John,

to do something about this empty space (and to follow James aka
carbo111), I could not help myself but post this link

http://homepage.mac.com/jhhelms/PhotoAlbum1.html

which will take you to my newly aquired housing for my Animal and TKB.
Do I have to say how much I love it? :-)))

I've jammed with two friends on different occasions with this system,
and the more I do, the more I really appreciate it. I get a real kick
out of the "features/possibilities vs space" ratio, whilst maintaining
a beautiful, non-crowded front panel layout. And the sound…I was able
to get the most powerful kick/percussion rhythms out of it - and I was
lucky that one of my friends has Genelec active monitors with matching
subwoofer…and a completely isolated studio. Hehehe.

OK, I'll stop here. Guess I am carrying "owls to Athens" when I am
raving in the SMOG about Serge :-)

But for some reason…I can not stop…to think about…a third panel…what a
surprise.

This is how far I got yet:
PRNV
2COM
NCOM
ACPR
SCPR
DSG
RES

That leaves 5 blank spaces. I am interested in adding more filtering,
so one possibility to fill these:
RING
VCFS
AMX
XFAD

Better suggestions for adding "treatments" (sorry for EMS speak ;-) ?

Perhaps:
VCFS
WAD

I am very unsure about the WAD. Does anybody have the WAD and is
willing to share his experiences? I read the catalog/EGRES over and
over again on this one, but I still can not figure out how it works on
delaying audio signals. Does its "delay time vs. frequency range" ratio
make it more usable as a Flanger/Chorus or can it be used as an Echo on
audio signals?

Thanks in advance,
best regards,
Jan-Hinnerk

Serge in a QTVR

If you'd care to take a look at my Serge system and your computer can
handle a QuickTime QTVR file, then visit:

http://www.twelfthroot.com/qtvr/

That address will take directly to the frame-set that has the QTVR
image of my studio. You need to pan to the left and click on the Serge
Beast in order to get other images of it. It's a 12 panel system in a
custom aluminum frame. I have one more panel coming from Rex, a quad
panner.

You can also enter the site through the "front door" at:

http://www.twelfthroot.com

Comments always welcome. If anyone has trouble accessing my site,
please let me know. I'm trying to make the site as universally
accessible as reasonably possible.

Hi Edmund

that custom frame is simply stunning!!

It really matches the visual aspect of the Serge IMO.

Beautiful system....

Yeah, this was being circulated on analog heaven a month or so back,
much drooling going on.
The Serge in the frame is super cool, the whole studio is very very nice.

LMAO!!! now that's a studio. I just downloaded the
new Quiktime thing and it allowed me to use whatever
it is that drives that wonderful view of the studio.
How does it do that?? very cool. where the hell did
you get that frame?? I want one! Hahaha
I recognized some similar layout of panels..the Seq
panel and the CV interface panel and the Matrix mixer
panel...thought i might be the only one with one of
those. My system has gotten a little out of control of
late with twenty two panels and two more on the way.
I think you might be able to view it by going to
www.dattonline.com and click on johns toys. I least i
think that's it. don't go there myself and i don't
host. Actually i dont know anything about that kind of
stuff.

you won't regret it.

take a pass....like wise the WAD. I had one once and
am about to have one again but it's a strange beast.
It's not a delay line as we think of it; more like a
delay of voltages but it will do chorusing and stuff
but you can do that better with outboard gear.
You have 5 spaces left. Swoosh things around abit. I
would add a VCF2 and a XFAD and a MIX2.
Just my 2 cents worth and i'm sure others would
disagree
Kind regards
