I'm getting confused now

I'm getting confused now

2004-04-18 by Ioannis Kazlaris

Hi,

what do you think to put a NCOM instead of a PDIV in the Sequencer panel? I can have different pulse from the NCOM's lower part if I remember properly. Also swap the VC Clock for a Random Source since I can clock the sequencers from either the DSG or DTG. And maybe replace the DTG or the SSG for two Active Processors or an Active Processor and a CV Mixer.

Is the sound of the VCF2 much different from the VQCF?

Maybe 4 panels? Oh my...

Later

'Maybe 4 panels?'

You can squeeze a pretty damn powerful system into three IMHO.
Any more than one panel is a pretty serious financial outlay on a system you
probably don't fully understand yet.
I started with one and didn't find it too disappointing.
In fact, having progressed to three I ended up downsizing back to the
original panel.
Mind you, that was back in the days you could order and take delivery in
less than 3 months.
If I had to wait 6 months to a year, I'd probably be tempted to order more
in one go like you.

yes - the VCF2 is a VC Bandwidth Filter - with voltage control of
both Freq and Bandwidth. No 'Q'. The VCFQ is a 'regular' 12dB
Multimode Filter - but with nice features such as voltage control
of 'Q' and Auto Gain Control input to prevent overloading... it is
superb for ringing percussion sounds using a combination of the AGC
and TRIG inputs.

I think the NCOM swap in place of the PDIV is
reasonable and a good call. The rest however is
something that i personaly wouldn't do. I definately
wouldn't use the DSG for a clock source...or rather,
force it into that role.Just because you "can" doesn't
mean you should.
just my 2cents.
