anyone with experience with this...?

Hope this isn't so far off topic that mark slaps me but most of the guitar user groups are full of gunslingers and such. I'm thinking of getting back to the guitar a little bit and useing it to add a little sonic spice to my modular synth recordings. As my studio is set up to record nothing but synths, i'm going to have to go the "direct in" route. Getting a electric guitar into the board and then out to the Serge for extra processing in not a problem, as i have a POD xt. But getting a good acoustic guitar tone direct is another story. Does anyone on this list have first hand experience with acoustic DIs?? About the only one that i've even heard of for acoustic instruments is the Pendulum Audio.Other than that i'm ignorant. I've been to most of the manufacturers sites, but it's all the same advertising shuck and jive. So if anyone has any hands on experience with this situation and could point me in any direction, i would be most grateful. I'm useing a Dexter Johnson with a LR Baggs pickup w/ Strausmann preamp...... way cool twenty years ago, but a little outdated now. Yes, i know i could and should just go for a modest microphone and preamp, and i do have a few of those but i also live underneath the flightpath at PDX international. So forget that. I did set up a vocal mike about three years ago, but i guess my mikes weren't cheap enough 'cause i could pick up the dog farting across the street. Not what i had in mind, but with enough processing...... .. : )
kind regards
