Serge page updated...

2004-12-04 by Carbon111

I've updated my Serge page due to the arrival of my third panel:

http://www.carbon111.com/serge.html

With the addition of this panel my system is complete!
Probably.
...um, pretty sure.
Unless someone wants to trade a sequencer panel or a TKB for some cool
gear ^_^

The 2RVG is *great* and so is the Resonant EQ!!! For that matter, the
QUAN is a must-have as well for those autoaliatoric patches!

Best Regards, James

hey, what's feedin' your 2RVG? I thought you needed a RS or NS too... I
don't see one.
Or does it just work by itself???

Your pink hair is splendid.

James,

Nice pics! Glad you're enjoying your new panel. Like your choice of
modules to complement your first two panels, including the scaling
processor, which I think is often overlooked but very useful for a
system the size of yours. I actually prefer it to a dual processor
since many times you only need to mix/scale two inputs and you can
still mix 3x2 when needed.

What have you tried the Resonant EQ with so far?

Also, there are three jacks on your Wave Multipliers that I don't
recognize - is this a mod Rex did for you? Just curious what they
are for.

Thanks,

Chris

I like the ...." um, pretty sure" part. With the seeming limited number of filters in your set up, maybe i'll be able to tempt you next time i let a couple loose. LOL
Without a TKB or a sequencer, give us a heads up on your reasoning for getting a Quan. I know what i use mine for, but i'm just being curious and nosy at the same time. Also, why the Adapter module? I know it seems like a stupid question, but considering the cost of Serge modules, i would have thought that building custom cables would be a better option. At one time i had a fistful of banana to 1/8 and banana to 1/4 cables for my conversion needs. Got a little messy at times, but it worked. Again, just curious.

It has an internal noise source.

LOL...my wife thinks so too though its *blue* now ^_^

Very similar to my thoughts...I needed some CV processing/attenuation
but was cramped for space a bit and the SPRC seemed to have "more bang
for the buck" than the dual processor.

Just mixtures of waveforms so far, though I'm looking forward to feeding
it with some external signals via the PRNV. I was able to get some cool
"body resonance" type timbres - clarinette, sax, etc...very woody. I've
only begun to scratch the surface though.

Not that the Animal isn't dense enough...its a no-frills ring mod.

I thought you might say something along tose lines. Seriously though,
I'd be *more* than happy to take some of those excess panels off your
overburdened hands ;)
Do you need a Korg Delta?? No????? ^_^

Well, I can convert random signals and periodic waveforms and multiple
mixtures thereof into quasi-melodies sort of autoaliatoric though
changing amplitude via the SPRC alows me to constrain the total
variation in pitch from a few notes to a few octaves. Also, its great
for gliss effects not to mention modifying CVs to be routed elsewhere ...

Also, why the Adapter module? I know it seems

Since I seem to be one of the oddballs that operates their Serge from an
external keyboard, the Adapter module allows for easy connection of
gate, pitch CV and trig signals plus it makes interfacing my Moog CP-251
easier. I'm also contemplating using that section as a send/receive area
for outboard gear as I now have a few 1/4"-to-bannana cables. I guess
its partly an esthetic choice - I like the self-contained appearence of
the Serge and, if I pack it for transport, I wont have to pack
conversion cables for my friends' gear.

Yea...what about those extra jacks dude?? LOL I've looked at your system often and those extra jacks somehow got by me. Time to get my prescription checked.
