a note on the panel sale

a note on the panel sale

It should be said that anyone with an interest in buying these panels together should note that each panel has two power braids per chassis. Both panels together will need at least a PS4 to drive them.
kind regards

Now this is something I never thought about.... so the panels with
double connectors need 2x the power.....

I have one panel with 3 NTOs, 3 PCOs and a /N Comp that requires 2
    power connections.
I was told that the connections even had to be placed on certain
connectors of the distribution board, but I forgot which ones and I've
been using it just fine with random placement on the board.

try plugging two panels with the double power braids into a PS2 and see what ya get. Nothing

that depends on what' on the rest of the layout. I'v had panels with only two Osc that had the double braid. A CV intensive panel will also have the double braid.

you should treat a panel with two power connectors as two panels for purposes of determining the correct PS. i think all panels with more than one osc are supplied with two connectors for stability reasons.

I just spoke to Rex about this.
He basically says it's not as simple as stated above, but usually
panels with oscillators use up more juice than those with none. He
suggests that a Blue Voice panel (i.e., one with 3 oscillators) is
equivalent to (roughly) 1.5 non-vco panel (ergo, a PS6 should feed no
more than 4 of these babies). Other high-maintenance panels: those
with freq shifters and resonant EQ's in them (f. example, the Soup
      Kitchen).
He also recommends that, if in doubt about the power needs of your
individual panels (particularly custom ones), just CALL HIM AND ASK
      HIM.
      Better than perpetuating unsettling conjectures...........

      Peace.

It must be based on the panel. I had two panels originally. One of which had two braids but I was able to run all three braids on a PS2 no problem. So, apparently, it depends on the modules and the why fors of the second braid.
