I have been trying to get the Dual Universal Slope Generator to act as
an ADSR or even an AR.

I am using the 1979 paperplate TKB I can tap the plate and change the
Rise and Fall and it acts as a basic AR but it doesnt seem to stop the
sound it just seems to amplify the Attack and Decay for a short moment
while the sound stays on....

Can someone give me a quick basic patch for an AR please...I cant work
this one out :-)

Aha! You probably have the gain on whatever you're using as an output VCA turned up too far...back it down till there's no sound when no key is pressed...around 12 'o clock or so.
