Why Serge hidden from history and collections?

Why Serge hidden from history and collections?

2006-05-11 by cray5656

Hi all

WHy do I find it harder to find info on the Serge Modular synth, more
than any other synth company?

If I go to Synth pages you see everything from Buchla, EMs , Arp,Moog,
Oberheim etc etc, but nothing on Serge??

Are we a secret society?

Yeah, some people have even called Serge owners a 'cult'. If there's anything I don't like, it's that schematics aren't available.

then you should probably go elsewhere. The lack of schematics doesn't seem to bother anyone at all. This isn't a cult. just a collection of eccentric oddballs and generaly really nice people.

ha, i'm not going anywhere. i don't think it's a cult, and i just got my first Serge panels last week... i was only stating that not having schematics bothers ME and that some people, long ago, have said Serge owners are cultish... but i think block diagrams, at the very least, should be public domain. if we have the ability to fix a simple problem, ourselves, on our own gear, we shouldn't have to lose time and money to have someone else do it. it's as simple as that. i'm not saying anything about intellectual property/secret weapons, etc., etc...

I've done several repairs over the years without referring to schematics.
And I think that *some* schematics are available, old ones, if you look
up patent applications, Synapse articles and such.
