volts compatibility between Serge & 15volts modulars (Roland 100m,

2006-12-03 by Bakis Sirros

hello,
well?
can i connect, without any problems, my serge panel with my roland
system100m and blacet/fracrack modulars?
the Serge is 12volts, the others are 15volts...
in order to connect my doepfer a100 with the 15volts modulars, i have
to watch not to connect 15volts signals to certain a100 modules, like
the a150, a151, a152, a155 audio ins, a112 gate in, a101-2 g1 and g2
inputs and some others...so i ave to use an attenuator to brign down
the 15volts signals to about 12 volts, just to be safe.
but what about the serge? can its modules handle safely the 15 votls
signals?
thank you in advance,
best regards,
Bakis.

The Serge, according to its owners manual, can take inputs of up to
25 volts without problem, so 15 volts would not be an issue. I
regularly cross-patch my assorted 15V systems, Roland 100M and Serge.

hello Ken,
many thanks for the info!
btw, congrats on your great modules designs!
i have all the Bananalogue modules (that are partially
your designs, right?) and some Metalbox modules too.
best regards,
Bakis.

Yes, the Bananalogue modules are a hybrid of Serge's designs and mine,
though I would describe my additions as feature enhancement - basically
taking what he's done and adding possibilities to the way it can be
used.
