Envelope attack times
2006-12-19 by simulacreant
I've been using an Encore Expressionist with envelopes and other CV
generated via Max/MSP, FL Studio, Nord G2... I've also used my two
panels' DTGs as envelopes. But when it's time to synthesize a fast
transient/sharp attack bass or a kick drum, my CV is not quite fast
enough and the attacks become 'clicky' or 'blatty'.
I've been thinking of adding a Modcan Extended Envelope Generator, for
instance, and was wondering if a VC ADSR will be noticeably faster
than any of the methods I've employed so far. (note: I have a UAP so
I'm using it's VCAs.)
My preconception/hope was that MIDI to CV via something like the
Expressionist would've been sufficient...
Thanks!
