passive set of attenuators/switches

As I am always trying to optimize my system I found the lack of
attenuators my biggest "problem" so far. E. g. the "typical" wish of
attenuating the ADSR stages.
I searched the archives and found one "for sale" ad from John who
mentioned a panel WITH attenuators for his ADSRs. Did such a module
exist in the past or was it a custom thing?
Another post (Message #2685) mentioned the possible homebuild of a
passive set of attenuators/switches which I think would be a VERY
nice addition to the Serge module line.
How do you attenuate your ADSRs CV inputs (and other inputs that do
not have attenuators)?
- CMs
- Scaling Buffers
- Scaling Processors
- Active Processors
- VCAs
- "third party attenuators" (Metalbox, Modcan)
What are the advantages/disadvantages of the different solutions?
Ok, I know some of the aforementioned modules can also mix but what
else did you find out in the past when using them?
Thanks a lot in advance
