a way to mix triggers

a way to mix triggers

2008-04-14 by Kim G. Hansen

Hey all

nice to hear some sounds recently..

In between productions atm i've been having fun trying
to patch up my serge as a simple rythm section
- you know, drumkit and bass.

While trying to come up with a way to sequence basic
kick/snare/hh patterns i found a way to mix triggers
from several sources:

It requires a sequencer programmer - they have stage select
inputs and everytime these receive a trigger a corresponding
trigger is output from the seqp's gate output.

I just uploaded a file where the kick pattern is
derived from a combination of one of the outputs from a
PDIV + two stage trigger outputs of my Korg sq-10
as the PDIV ran 1/8 pattern and the Korg ran 1/12
it gives a nice rythm..

Cool sounds and funky rhythm. How exactly did you combine the triggers, again?

check the picture of a sequencer programmer at egres

http://www.serge-fans.com/newpics/SQP4_150dpi.jpg

- each stage has a "stage select pulse input" and everytime one of
these receives a pulse a trigger is output from the "gate output"

so with my sqp4 i can combine 4 different trigger sources
into one output, that can then be used to trigger say a bassdrum
sound.

i need a TKB more than ever, - it has trigger outputs for each
stage...

Ok, I understand now -- I'll try that!
