on the TimeGen Clock [TGC]

on the TimeGen Clock [TGC]

2008-06-28 by Harold Tique

The Time Gen Clock [TGC] is similar to the functionality of the
[TGO], with the added capability to exponentially CV modulate
independently the rise or fall times (or both simultaneously),
selected by means of a 3-position toggle switch.

This gives extra flexibility for PW modulation, so important in
clocking, as you can set the "on/off" ratio from either the front
(rising edge) or rear (falling edge) of the pulse wave
(red jack) output thereby defining the syncopation and `feel' of the
rhythm exactly to your liking.

When used in the 'both' mode (center position on the switch), then
the overall frequency is modified exponentially and the clock output
stays at a constant 50% duty cycle through out
the sweep range.

The manual frequency range is about 2 min to 6.5 Khz and that is
extended from
5 min. to 8.5 Khz with the addition of a control voltage giving the
[TGC] abilities as an audio oscillator with voltage variable wave
shaping emanating from the blue jack output.

The right 1/2 of the [TGC]'s manual frequency range is set to > 5
min to 2.5 Khz, and has a
focused, smooth voicing. This is perfectly suited as an LFO
modulation source for the clock.
