Chassis Boxes

Chassis Boxes

2008-07-12 by Harold Tique

Hi Frank,

The (4.5") height chassis are our 'standard' for a couple of reasons:

1) It lets the air flow within more evenly when stabilizing the
internal chassis box temperature. That means that all the module
functions 'track' in the same ambient field which leads to better
performance in both drift (low frequency shift) and 'Jitter' (high
freqency shift.

2) In many situations the use of the rear of the chassis box in used
in interfacing to other electronic equipment such as our balanced
line input & output drivers, [DID]s & [DAD]s, along with the
associated audio jacks and/or connectors. These examples and other
custom options take up internal 'real estate' in the chassis boxes
which could not be realized in the shorter (2.5") version.

The (2.5") version was designed specifically for 'suitcase' style
low-profile mounting were space requirements are at a minimum, such
as in instruments primarily for field use or touring.

I hope that helps...
