Sesame Street/Serge Connection
2001-06-11 by rk
Ok.....I have one for thee list. . . .
One of my most vivid memories as a child was watching Sesame Street on the
tv...
Every once in a while some hotti-Pocahontas-hippy-babe would come out and
sing some protest songs and play guitar..... (hotti hippy-chix caught my
interest even at a young impressionable age ;)
A few years later when I became interested in e-music... I came across some
weird 'electronic' record by the same Cree Indian Hippy Princess - Buffy
Sainte-Marie! I later made the Sesame Street connection...and was even
more freaked out....
The record is called 'Illuminations' (1970?) and has some fun hippy Buchla
stuff.....
I do know that she also used (uses?) a Serge on some newer soundtrack
stuff...
Does anyone have any Buffy Sainte-Marie/Serge data?
(If your interested....i did a bunch of 'Buffy Sainte-Marie' cutup remixes
@ www.the-lab.com ..the r buried all over Labradio.....u might find them
'interesting' ;)
