the active processor is a control voltage crossfader with two inputs and one
output. while this is cool because of the voltage controlability it offers
much less cv mixing capability than the dual processor (which i
unfortunately do not have. my system is really lacking when it comes to
mixing and cv processing).

Exactly. This was my understanding......

John/CW- do you have a fax #? (i can fax u over the panel layout if
your interested)

You guy's are supoze to tell me why this is going to work! ;)

This is a design that REX came up with when I was telling him what I
wanted to do. (It seems to be a *standard* shop "panel") A few
people must have them configured like this. . .

Dual Random Generator
Quadrature Ocillator (x2)
Active Process (x2)
Dual Transient Generator
Quad Channel (x2)
Quad Output Mixer

This all fits on one Panel.
Like I said....very interesting but very, very expensive.

Oh.... I busted out that Buffy Sainte-M record last night (its also
in Quad) *Very* enjoyable.
It was re-released on CD last year...so its easy to find.

Robert,
The panel looks good. Just don't understand the double Quad Osc.
What was the price?

More quad confusion:

This is kind of difficult to ask but I'll try...

do the CV inputs for the left/right and up/down movement on the Quad Panner
Channel work the same as on the Dual Channel Stereo Mixer?

ie. if only 1 control voltage is applied to the left CV input is the control
output automatically opposite for the right CV input ? - ie. is only 1 cv
input needed to shift it from left to right?

And the same for up/down?

If so - then I guess only 1 Quad Osc is needed per Quad Channel.
o degrees output for left/right movement 180 degrees output for up/down

I guess if this is correct that is why Rex recommended 2 Quad Oscillators -
to cover both Quad Panner Channels.

But as for the rest of the configuration??
According to the catalog - the Random Voltage Generators must be on the same
panel to a Noise Source and internally connected... not so on this panel?

I guess the Active Processors can crossfade the cv from the 2 Quad
Oscillators so you can feed 1 sound in to Quad Channel 1 and another into
Quad Channel 2 and swap/fade between the cv rates set by the Quad
Oscillators. I guess with the Dual Random Gen's this effect can be
randomized.

And lastly I guess the DTG's could control the VC ALL inputs on both Quad
Channels...

Loads of options.... and a killer panel!

If somebody could explain the reasons for the components in the Quad panel I
would be eternally grateful. (Especially the question Kirk asked above)
