documentation of research: controlling Serge Modular with audio sign

documentation of research: controlling Serge Modular with audio sign

2009-04-24 by jarg_marbin

I've only just begun exploring analog modular synthesis almost 3 weeks ago when I received a Serge Creature. I've been heavily experimenting, and I have a keen interest in controlling the instrument using external audio devices ( sending only amplified audio data to the Creature). I have a bunch of those 1/4" to banana cables from Rex, an M-audio 1616M, a laptop I use as a mixer, and many instruments and gadgets. I've been documenting my various experiments on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/user/JargMarbin). I'm trying to add one documented experiment per day while the excitement lasts. These are my first videos I've ever made so excuse the poor video capture settings, I'm not very good at video. Focus on the content.

That's nice and creative thinking!

Ha! I only managed to watch the cardboard box, but you gotta love those little piezo elements.

Good stuff.

I've got a bunch of 'em in a box somwhere from an old foray into sample triggering. As amused as I was, I don't think the drummer much cared for the surprise of incongruous bird-tweeting atop his kickdrum.

That's awsome. I like what you were doing with the Kaossilator, it's surprisingly musical.
