TKB updates?

TKB updates?

2014-03-13 by John P

What kind of updates has the TKB received in the past 10 or 15 years? I
see the front panel controls is basically unchanged from the Serge T.
days, and I know Rex uses better materials than the early eras. But
electronically, has anything changed "under the hood" since the move to
Harland?

Hi,

We started using better LEDs than the old red ones. I spent a lot of time improving the surface finish on the touch plate too. We've also figured out a few ways to get it trimmed up nicer when it leaves the factory so you don't always have to tweak it to suit your environment right away. The quantizer option is probably the newest thing.

Thanks Nick. Can you elaborate on the quantizer option? Is in an internal quantizer as opposed to a separate TKB quantizer module?

W9oo add two switches to the panel. One enables the quantizer for rows A and B and the other workout for rows C and D. I think it just quantizes to a chromatic scale, but you have to ask Rex, since I only get the TKB part up and dialed in.
