3 panels for sale

2002-01-23 by DarkStr717@aol.com

These panels are up for sale folks.
Panel # 1
NTO-PCO-NCOM-PDIV-TWS-MIX2-XFAD-VCFQX-UAP (New cost $2680. Sell $2100.)
Panel # 2 is the same as #1
Panel # 3
PRNV-CLK-ACPR-SPRC-QUO-QUO-VCFS-VCF2-XFAD-XFAD
New cost.... $2810.0 Sell $2200.
As always, these are in perfect condition.
Terms are the same as always with me.... Cashiers check only. I ship when
the check clears. I pay shipping and insurance. Prefer to sell in North
America.
These panels will remain for sale no matter how long it takes. So if there
are no takers now for whatever reason check back later and they might still
be here. Prices are firm. Yea, they are spendy little items but everyone here
knows they're worth it. So step up to the plate .... don't be shy....
hahaha. The list has been a little slow for action lately..... let's see some
banter guys.
Kind regards

Chas Smith

2002-01-24 by Richard Quirk

Hello all,

Has anyone hear ever heard the music of Chas Smith?
He did the soundtrack of "American Beauty" and has a
new album called "Aluminium Overcast". There's a trk
called "Gate" on the compilation that came with the
latest edition of the Wire magazine. Very beautiful
stuff. They also did an article on him a few months
back and he had a 6 panel Serge system behind him.

He mainly uses lapsteel and home-built percussion
instruments. It sounds similar to my own material of
filter feedback loops with the Fenix and a bit of
reverb.

regards

Richard Quirk

There's a Pro/File column on Chas Smith (with said photo) in the March '01
issue of Electronic Musician magazine. Apparantly, Chas was around "during
the day," so his Serge is highly modified. I remember talking to him 10 or
so years ago about his Serge -- then, in mothballs. Of course I had the
dream of buying if from him, but it never happened. About a year ago, I
spoke with him at a NAMM show, and he mentioned that he was working with it,
and was enjoying his new Metasonix Hellfire Modulator...

BTW, Chas's 10" EP on the Cold Blue label is one of my favorite discs of all
time. Primarily pedal steel guitar, but using Just intervals based on
Partch's scale.
