Hallo Chris. First the Fenix list, now here. . . :)

Yes, I am an 'early' operator of Metasonix units. . .i've been messing with
them for quite awhile.

integrate it into my Serge set up.

IMO the Hellfire would integrate well into *any* modular (or non-modular
setup) The Hellfire ranges from a beautiful distortion unit.....to a
waveform mangler (you don't have to worry about it being similar to Serge
this is different...)..to a panner...to. . .

I'm sure you have done a google search...there is quite alot of information
on the web about the units....and most of it is pretty 'righton'. A great
article was in the (U.S. publication) EM. (November 2000)

http://www.digitalprosound.com/Htm/Reviews/2000/Nov/metasonix3.htm

The METASONIX units are difficult to discribe.....its truly beautiful (in
that Black Sabbath kinda way) Having missed the 'tube' craze the first
time around....i now understand the hype guitar players always talk
about... (If you do ANY type of experimental guitar/violin etc. work, the
Hellfire would be a must.)

Like so much modular gear...be prepared to spend *alot* of time messing
with the unit and *slowly* changing the settings...METASONIX units are
sound design tools. . .you will be glad you have one in your studio....

> On the other hand, it may be too similar to the Serge Wave >Shaper and
Wave
> Multiplier modules.

I think a good way to describe it would be a WAVE SHAPER crossed with a
ZVEX FUZZ FUZZ FACTORY (ZVEX stuff is a must!) You get everything from the
METASONIX....dark tube sound...to robot beeps...and everything in between.

When Rex Probe talks about playing Buchla's thru Marshall Stacks with
echoplexes everywhere ... . . . you can kinda imagine the 'sound' of the
METASONIX stuff.....

Its not for everyone (i can see alot of people not liking it). . .but id
say its a *well* kept secret....there is nothing like it. . .

I'm currently abuse-ing a hellfire, a filter bank (this things also very
cool) and I have the "prototype" of a current metasonix PT synth....

Eric (Metasonix) is great with support....im sure he will quickly answer
all of your questions.

Hope this kinda helped. ..
