You sound English! If you can purchase "Goo Gone" or a similar citrus based cleaner, the gummy residue will safely lift off plastic surfaces. Read the warnings on the label with regards to other surfaces (lacquer, varnish, etc.) This will become an important tool in your cleaning arsenal. Good luck, and keep in touch. Rich
