Hi, speaking as a native of that 'magnificent musical town', I seem to remember an article in 'The Star'(local newspaper), about the drums being modified by Pete Hartley (who worked on the Hartley- Thompson guitar amps). There may have been others involved, but not being a fan of their music, I wasn't too interested. I did know Pete years ago though, so it stuck in my mind. Allen was heading for a farmhouse just outside the city when he overturned his car and my partner rented the same place just after the band moved out. She was suprised to find the whole place covered in (dog?) shit, even the curtains... er.. Rock'n'Roll lads! - so strange seeing how they all came from such good backgrounds - but there again, they where much better known 'round here for posing infront of large shop windows and looking at themselves, than for any music. Anyway, Pete still has a shop under his own name on London Road, so a well placed 'phone call could probably end anyones torment, but personally... By the way, my SDX coughed, spluttered and died a few years back. Does anyone know a trusted (and ideally localish to Sheffield) repair shop? Does anyone still service these things? And how much do they charge to take a look?? Cheers, Rod. --- In Simmons_Drums@yahoogroups.com, <jesper@...> wrote: > > I haven't heard those rumours but now I'd easily come to the same > conclusions as you...
