Hello. I'm new to the group. I've been a drummer for around 15 years and have just now decided to get an electronic set. I've been looking at Simmons drums (and only Simmons!) on eBay and am currious about the SDS1000. I never see SDS1000 drums on eBay, but I do see a lot of SDS9's. My question is: if I had the SDS1000 brain and SDS9 pads, would that combination work well? I am assuming that individual channel gain can be adjusted to match the resistance of most standard triggers including SDS9's. Also, what does the group think a good price (USD$) is for an SDS1000 module? An SDS9 module is also for sale. I don't mean to start a religious war between group members, but I have to ask this question: Which is better? I am under the impression that SDS9's are a sort-of hybrid digital/analog combo, the SDS1000 is all digital, both are 5-piece sets (B/S/T/T/T), both have MDI capabilities, both have mix and direct outs, and both can store user kits. Is that correct? Thanks in advance! PS: Why are all modern electronic drums so darn small? How are you supposed to hit little drums on a dark stage while the fog machine is going?
