Vintage Simmons Drums (UK) Users Group

Hey guys, 
before sampling could reach analog smooth variations
we'll need
to change seriously the sampling frequencies !!!
A friend of mine told me than simply by recording some audio material 
to reach the analog you don't need 96 KHZ not even 192 KHZ but 384 
KHZ...(like PYRAMIX for ex.)
So I find difficult to believe that the SDX can restitute the SDSV 
Capabilities with only 44.1 KHZ, (that's why I have an SDX & that I 
preciously keep my SDSV...) .
There are some SDSV samples in the SDX, some are from the Phil 
Collins SDSV ; it's pretty far from the reality..I can't explain it's 
very dry, you haven't got the juice of the SDSV filters, even if you 
can add the juice of the SDX, it's 2 (& too) very different machines.
It's true that the SDX filters are incredible too, but that's really 
not the same sound at all !!!
But if you have a way of just approaching the SDSV sound & 
expressivness of it, I'm interested to know how you do I might not 
have seen a big part of SDX & samplers ...
I used quite a lot the ZI pads & don't share the "dynamic" opinion 
you have..They have a lot of qualities but I'm not sure that's this 
one...
The best I have played are my DD3 pads setted with some Mesheads 
skins which is approaching seriously from the acoustic drum kit 
dynamic...It wasn't the case till these new skins ; don't ask me 
why , I have no idea... 
Since , I'm dreamig to drive the SDX from my DDRUM pads , but  how 
finding again the ZONING ...?....
