Re : [Simmons Drums] MTM display replacement

2014-03-20 by Jacquot.Patrice@...

Hi Alfonso ! :)
there is an adjustable screw inside on the PCB, not far close to the front house & the display ... that should adjust the contrast...
Not very good quality on mine ... it sould be possible to replace it for a good one...if needed...

If the display is too strong , (too much light ) then I know there is some resistor to add or modify the value...
But I don't know what value ^^

hope that helps,
Patrice.

Objet: [Simmons Drums] MTM display replacement

Hi group!I´m looking for help to replace the original MTM display. I bought recently a new one in blue light and white characters. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131068298298?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
I have scarce knowledge about electronics so I left the job in the hands of a friend, he repairs guitar amplifiers, but are not familiar with this type of equipment. The point is that he has installed the new display and although it is lit, the characters don´t appear. I sent him the photo that is in the Simmons group and he has followed these particulars. So I have no idea which may be failing. I just sent him a few minutes ago the MTM service manual, I suppose this can help him. If you've got any advice will be well received. Thanks in advance!
