Regarding the battery information I think that paragraph is thorough if 
you decide to trust it.
The old battery has to be unsoldered if it is the original battery in 
there \u2014 as shown on my webpage. Your SDS7 migh been modified at some point?

For my SDS7 I used some longer leads to the new battery and mounted it 
off the PCB board in case it should start to leak. I also wrapped it in 
3 layers of heat shrink just in case ;)
