I just finished "restoring" one of these. Mine was acting strangely too....I replaced the memory battery on the main board and also ALL the electrolytic capacitors on both the main board and the power supply board. Also cleaned the switches and pots. Everything works like it should now. You issue is probably electrolytic cap related.....these are 35 years old now.....electrolytic caps aren't supposed to last that long ;)
