Vintage Simmons Drums (UK) Users Group

Hello
 I am new to the group, I am looking to take my SDS-8 kit out of the 
attic and start to play it again but the module is dead.. I hope to 
repair it eventually..  Dose anyone have any experience with the 
currently availabe cheaper modules like the alesis DM-5? yamaha dtx 
roland td-5? and how they work with the simmons pads? Is any one a 
better choice than the other?  Thanks..
