how many 'sections' do you see on them?
Mono jack have one tip and one large section (2 in total).
Stereo ones have a tip, a ring, and a large section (3 in total)

That makes sense, at least to me,
I guess the tip would be snare and the ring would be the rim, but it might be
the other way around.
