Paul,
In regard to the "Foot Controllers" pic, is that a custom sustain
pedal in the middle? You get high marks for neatness, by the way.

I have no idea I'm afraid, it was just a bunch of photos I managed to get.

I thought this was your personal instrument, Paul. I have one of these and
was curious about the pedal array.

Wrong Paul! S'my mallet! The sustain pedal is as you say, just that. I
don't know why there are two bolted together, it may just be to get a
wider pedal, but it only has the one function.
On top are the inc/dec switches, the far right pedal is for pitch-bend
(which I might remove, not very useful to me), and the left pedal
brings in modulation. The "array" is a useful mass, so it doesn't move
around at all.
Is your Mallet up and running? Good to know I'm not alone.

Paul B, not M.

Howdy Paul B.
My mallet does work. I do have use for pitch bend as I run my output
through a handful of pedals including a Boss Mega Distortion and a Snarling Dog
Mold Spore Wah in order to get away from traditional mallet playing. I play
seated in order to dance on the pedals while playing up top and attempt to
make sounds like a guitarist or '70s synth player. However, I wish I could
stretch an octave rather than a measly fifth.

Mallet grip / mono sounds

2005-07-01 by bty293472

I did a bit of research on grip, and found this link to be the best
by
far.
You'll need broadband to download this lot.
http://www.vicfirth.com/education/keyboard/howarth.html

Hope it helps.
Like the wah-wah idea. I used to hate them in the eighties, but the
guitarist in my last band converted me back on to them.
Can't see me using it though, I'm more into creating bass-lines a
bass
player couldn't play, if you see what I mean. (Cos I'm a bass-player,
I
guess)
Do you use any external MIDI with it? I'd like to find a sound module
that will trigger monophonically on the last note played, but don't
know where to start.
Any ideas welcome.
