REcently purchased an SDS9 brain and also a few SDS9 pads seperately. How do I get the snare/rim to trigger from the same pad? Did Simmons have a special "dual zone" type of pad made for this function? regards, Jim

Since you have purchased the brain and the pads Perhaps there is a pad with a stereo connector, thus suited for the purpose so carefully open the pads, and find out?? good luck Berk >-- Oorspronkelijk bericht -- >To: Simmons_Drums@yahoogroups.com >From: "Jim" <jbospunk@...> >Date: Fri, 10 Aug 2007 05:20:24 -0000 >Subject: [Simmons Drums] How do I trigger both Snare and Rim on SDS9? >Reply-To: Simmons_Drums@yahoogroups.com > > >REcently purchased an SDS9 brain and also a few SDS9 pads seperately. >How do I get the snare/rim to trigger from the same pad? The SDS9 came with a special stereo pad with an extra rim trigger and a stereo jack. The stereo pad can be easily identified by the grey colored "o" in "Simmons" on the ruber surface. If you don't have any pad with a grey "o", you don't have a snare pad. Bye Wolfgang --- In Simmons_Drums@yahoogroups.com, "Jim" <jbospunk@...> wrote:

My SDS9 kit had no identifiable snare (no pad with a grey "o"). I only knew which was the snare after opening the pads for restoration, externally it's identical to the toms. The piezo for the rim was broken anyway, aparently by an abusive previous owner, but since I use it with an SDS8 brain it's no problem but easily fixable if required :-) I stuck a little "S" sticker next to the jack input so I could tell which pad was which. Cheers, Ken. --- In Simmons_Drums@yahoogroups.com, "superwolle70" <superwolle70@...> wrote: > > The SDS9 came with a special stereo pad with an extra rim trigger and > a stereo jack. Hi, I'm new to the forum and i've also Just bought an SDS9 and pads. I had the same head scratching moment, as externally the pads look identical, so i reasoned I was missing a snare pad, so i peeked inside and spotted some extra wiring. I've yet to hook up the full rig, though i've tested the brain, and apart from a few electronic niggles and noisy pots it works. I'm assured the pads trigger ok. On the outside it looks a little shabby though with all the discolouration of off white.beige plastic, I was thinking about re-spraying, so i'd appreciate it if anyone had any comments on this. I intend to restore 'her' to former electro glories. Carl --- In Simmons_Drums@yahoogroups.com, "ken_evans_99" <tycho33@...> wrote:
