SDS-III in da houze!

SDS-III in da houze!

2007-11-27 by jesper

Hi list!

I'm just in need to exult my joy after opening two large boxes
containing a SDS-III and the accompanying pads + all the necessary
paperwork such as manuals, schematics, spec sheets and even the original
receipt from september 1979.
It needs a little fixing internally, but the exterior is close to
flawless after all these years.

And... thanks Tom!

Hi Jesper,

Congratulations!

Any chance you'll be making some of that paper SDS3 documentation
available via scans or PDF's? Seems to be a pretty limited amount of
original docs available online for this desirable Simmons model so
far.

I'd love to get a copy of the paperwork that originally came with the
SDS3!

FWIW, I've been trying to get a few basic dimensions of the case as
well. For example: Wood Cheek thickness, distance between them or
overall width. Measurement of bottom panel;(front to back), height of
rear panel.

Kind regards, Randal

Thanks!

BTW, I must've missed this mail originally 'cause I only saw it now
online while throwing out the spammer... anyway...

Yes, i plan to... one day. ;) Right now it's rewiring the studio and
kicking the Oddy back to life, fixing up the SDS-III in question etc
first. And also, my scanner doesn't work well with my new computer so
I have to scan with the old one and transfer. messy but will be done,
bear with me...

Thank Tom for selling it to me! :) I even got his account saved in
mail. It tells a lovely story of a young man buying it at the factory
back in '79...

Are you on that clone project? Or fixing up a battered unit?
