Even the original riot shield surface has been replaced. The funniest critics I already got is the comparism with the genetic mouse with the human ear stitched on her back.

The feeling is just like drumming on a set of high tuned 10 inch toms: pretty ok. The dynamics are also pretty ok, much much better than any dynamics Simmons has ever offered. But there's still headroom. At the moment the triggers are located close to the edge. Hi-end mesh pads have the trigger mounted right in the center on a weird construction. I can see why you do it - from a drummers point of view. Still stylish... I'm building a different setup now with Pollard, Pearl Syncussion and SDS-3/4 pads. Looks retro and nice and the aching hands thing is no issue anymore.
