SDX Memory Upgrade

SDX Memory Upgrade

2009-12-14 by Roland Brenner

Guys,

Does anyone have a source for the 30-pin SIPP ( Single Inline Pin Package ) memory modules used in the SDX ? I'm looking for 14 of them to max out my console's memory. Part number are as follows:

NEC: MC-41256A8A-15

or

Samsung: KMM49256-15

or

Hitachi: HD50256CP-15-SP

I can get them, but the prices are pretty high.

Alternatively, does anyone have or know someone who has a dead console or parts from one?

- Roland

Does the SDX only take SIPP or can it use 30 pin SIMM?

Hi Jonathan,

Yes, unnfortunately the board has the sockets that only accept the "pinned" sipps. However, if I can't find sipps at a decent price, I may try to find a way to make some type of adapters so the appropriate simms can be used. Perhaps finding 30-pin simm sockets with pins on the bottom?!?!? Just a though for now...
