Anyone out there know a few mods to make the Techstar sound more like a Simmons SDS?

Personally I favour the TS-305 in that battle (shame on me!). But if you think about SDS-V I think it's a lot harder. The SSM-filter is working magic and I think there is something in the envelopes too. So, modifying might replacing entire circuit parts. Nothing I would dig into. Better get the real deal then. -- electronically yours, jesper - -- --- ---- ----- ---- --- -- - www.electronic-obsession.se

Thanx for the advice. I guess i judged it too soon. I started playing around with it today and got a better handle on the sound parameters. Yeah i think i will leave it alone except for fixing the main outs which have some oscillation emission.I had to separate out everything into a mixer which really isn't too practical.Pretty cool unit. My ole drummer (ex drummer)has an sds9 and i was kinda fixated on that a bit. I feel a bit better now, especially since I scored the TS 305 for 50 bucks. --- On Wed, 12/22/10, jesper <jesper@...> wrote:

Shame on us, sold the 305, regret regret regret Liked it really afterwards. Hmm Human afterall. Since we're talking tama, I purchased 5 tama pads, almost brand new, in the boxes. If someone is interested, send me a PM. go here http://search.retrosynth.com/ah/ analogue heaven archives. has a section if you look through the posts on how to do mods to the tama techstar. probably goes well beyond the idea of making it sound like a simmons. always tempted but do not have the skill or ability. --- In Simmons_Drums@yahoogroups.com, "dorianshow" <dorianshow@...> wrote:
