Pearl Syncussion http://www.hollowsun.com/donations/syncussion/ Simmons Electronics http://www.hollowsun.com/vintage/sds5/index.html http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=http://www.synrise.de/do cs/types/s/simmons.htm&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dsimmons%2Bdrums%26start%3D10%26hl% 3Den%26lr%3D%26ie%3DUTF-8%26sa%3DN Star Instruments-Synare Drums http://code404.com/synths/images/star_synare.ad.jpg Pollard International-Syndrum http://www.keyboardmuseum.org/pic/s/synd/synd.html Roland DDR-30 > > 2. Can you give me names of songs (and bands) where electronic drums > are prominent. (Not drummachines, that's another story all togeather). Here are some classics: 1. Thomas Dolby "She Blinded Me with Science" Simmons SDS5 2. Midnight Oil "Power and the Passion" Simmons SDS5 3. The Cars "You're all I've Got Tonight" Pollard Syndrum > > 3. Drummers who were pioneers in using electronic drums. 1. Bill Bruford with King Crimson and Earthworks. 2. Howard Jones' drummer, I don't remember his name but he would play SDS7's standing up. 3. John Willie Wilcox with Todd Rundgren and Utopia. Check out the album "The Road to Utopia" 4. OK, this is a little bold.... myself???? At one time or another I played SDS7's, SDS 1000, Roland DDR-30, Syndrum, E-MU Edrums and SImmons SDX with a (not so well known) band called "Think Tree" and in a later form "Count Zero". Check out (if you can find it) Think Tree "Eight Thirteen" (DDR-30, E-mu, SDS7) on SIneAppleSap records, "LIke the Idea" (SDX, SDS7) on Caroline Records and Count Zero "Affluenza" on SIneAppleSap (SDX, SDS7) Here is a link to check out: http://www.count-zero.com/ http://www.count-zero.com/html/Past1B.html OK, I apologize for the shameless self-promotion. I was into this stuff big time back in the day. Have fun! Jeff
