Customizing Simmons Drums?

Hey Guys!
Do you think it would be possible to make mesh heads for your old
simmons drums and install new better triggers. I'm pretty ignorant
when it comes to the whole mesh head thing. Does anyone know where
to get the stuff and how expensive it is? I like the looks of the
old vintage kits better than the new ones but I would like to improve
the feel and the sound!
