Simmons in action

2013-04-02 by vout@...

Hi,

I just found this version of one of my favourite tracks, thought I'd share -

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xe1z2_freur-doot-doot

Check out that Simmons kit! Great combination of CR-78 and SDSV(I think)

Cheers, vout

Nice one! Every time I see this video though, I wonder why the guy on the
left is playing a broom handle. Was that an homage to Gary Numan and the
tube from his mum's Hoover? ;-)

I was wondering about that as well. Perhaps he really wanted a Chapman stick,
but had to make do with a broom handle as they'd already blown the budget on the
rest of their gear! The lyrics are excruciatingly bad, at least to a native
English speaker, which is a shame as I really like the music. They continued
with nonsense lyrics though, as the two main members went on to form Underworld
whose "Born Slippy" has a strange shouted / chanted vocal that's also defies
interpretation.

Karl looks weird with long hair.
All I can say is thank goodness for Trainspotting... :-)

First incarnation of Underworld had Freur's (doot doot)drummer Bryn Burrows as a member. This vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QyqBd7-L5NA shows he still liked his Simmons gear .=)
